Emma Raucanu is working with her childhood coach Nick Cavaday – and could take the Brit Down Under when she returns to competitive action in the New Year. The 2021 US Open champion has been out of action since May surgeries on her wrists and ankle

During the break, the 21-year-old also split with German Sebastian Sachs in June and is now looking for her sixth full-time coach as a pro.

Raducanu has been practising with LTA coaches at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton but she has also worked with Cavaday – the brother of former world No.174 Naomi Cavaday.

Nick and Naomi Cavaday are from Kent and worked with the young Raducanu at the Bromley Tennis Centre at the start of her career.

Raducanu’s management team were unable to confirm who will be working with the world No.299 in the upcoming season. The former world No.10 has a wildcard to play the ASB Classic in Auckland starting on January 1.

Raducanu has a protected ranking of world No.103 and will likely need a wildcard – or go to through qualifying – to play at the Australian Open starting on January 14.

Ahead of her return in the New Year, Raducanu has been given some drastic words of advice by Tim Henman. It has been a tough period for her following her incredible US Open triumph, and the former British player has urged her to drop down to Challenger events.
